Watertown Rotary Club acknowledged the Students of the Month for April at the club’s weekly luncheon on Wednesday April 24. The students were 12th grader Jacob Fenn, 11th grader Devin Rinaldi, 10th grader Sara Dishnica and 9th grader Rawan Musaed. The Watertown Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon, at Hawk Ridge Winery and welcomes anyone to join their luncheon. The Watertown Land Trust and Watertown History Museum Branch Brook Trail hike was held Sunday, April 14. The skies threatened, but the brook was rushing, the walk was pleasant, and the hikers were trying to identify the many birds by their calls. “The beauty was shattered as six dirt bikes and an ATV came roaring down the trail even though the trail has signs ‘foot travel only’ and the law does not allow such machines on Connecticut state forest land,” Land Trust member Charles Schall wrote to the Town Times.

WATERTOWN — Watertown High School’s Varsity Golf team defeated Wolcott 183-190 on April 22. Colin Krayeske came in at 39, (medalist), Sarah Krayeske at 42, Ava Kyle at 51, and Michael Longo 51. On April 23 the team defeated Naugatuck 191-220. Team scores were Michael Longo 45 (medalist), Colin Krayeske 46, Ava Kyle 49, and Sarah Krayeske 51. The team defeated Woodland on April 24, 200-220. Scores were Colin Krayeske 43 (medalist), Michael Longo 44, Sarah Krayeske 55, and Ava Kyle 58.

THOMASTON — The Thomaston Ladies Choral Club, with guest singers The H.S. Liederkrantz, will celebrate their 80th anniversary and Spring Concert filled with joyful spring music at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at St Peters Trinity Church, located at 160 Main St. Songs will include “Daybreak,” “A Joyful Song,” “A Distant Land,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “I See Colors,” “Be the Change/This Little Light of Mine,” “Ombra Mai Fu” and “Over My Head.”

The Watertown Lions Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 14 at Crestbrook Park Northfield Rd.
